Answers
Do I need to be a licensed IDI Qualified Administrator to utilize the ODP with my students?
Yes, the Student Online IDI Debrief Program can only be administered by licensed IDI Qualified Administrators.
How long should it take students to complete the Online Debrief Program?
Once students have signed up for the correct program, it should take them 20-30 minutes to complete. The time will vary as the program is interactive, but this is a good estimate.
Can I create assignments for my students based on the content covered in the Student Online IDI Debrief Program?
Yes. For example, you might assign a quiz, reflection assignment, etc.
Can I reassign an Online Student Debrief code if a student doesn’t use it?
Yes, you can simply provide that Online Debrief Code to a different student that has already completed the IDI Assessment. Remember that you will need to send the IDI Individual Profile Report and IDP to that student before they can complete the Online Debrief Program.
Can I send Online IDI Debrief Codes to my students from the system via email?
If the Online Debrief Codes are ordered as part of an IDI Login Codes order and students’ email addresses are included, then the IDI Assessment Website will first send each respondent their IDI Login Code to complete the IDI Assessment. Once the respondent completes (submits) the IDI Assessment, the website will then email the respondent their IDI Individual Profile Report and IDP, along with the URL and Online Debrief Code to register and complete their individual debrief online.
If the Online Debrief Codes are purchased separately from an IDI Login Code order or students’ email addresses were not included, then the QA will need to manually send the student their IDI Individual Profile Report and IDP, as well as the Online Debrief Code and URL.
If I don't use the system to email my students, what do I need to send them?
- IDI Login Code (username and password) for each student to complete the IDI Assessment.
- Each IDI Individual Profile Report and IDP for those participating in the Online Debrief Program.
- These IDI Reports will need to be generated by a QA for each student in order to be sent as they cannot be emailed directly from the system when not including the students’ email addresses.
- Access information for the Student Online IDI Debrief Program.
What do I do if I entered a student’s email address incorrectly when ordering IDI Login Codes and Online Debrief Codes together?
You will need to provide the student with their IDI Login Code (username and password). Once the IDI has been completed, you would email the student their IDI Individual Profile Report and IDP, along with the link to the Online Debrief Program (the link you received when you placed your order).
Can the Student Online IDI Debrief Program be used by students anonymously?
Due to the nature of the system, students’ names and emails must be entered, thus making it impossible for a student to complete the Online Debrief Program anonymously. The Student Online IDI Debrief Program is confidential, however. Only you as a QA (or the authorized users who have access in Enterprise accounts) have access to the data.
What is considered "passing" in the Online Student Debrief Program?
The program defines passing as completing all the required slides and knowledge checks, regardless of the number correct. You may consider creating a supplemental assignment to test learning comprehension.
Can a student retake the ODP if they didn't pass all the Knowledge Check questions?
In the system, once a student completes the program, including responding to all the Knowledge checks, they will be marked as "passing", regardless of the score they received. Students are unable to change a submitted answer.
Students can go back and review the course they were enrolled in, but cannot "retake" it. To test learning comprehension, it's recommended that QAs create a separate assessment that addresses the content they would like the students to know.
How do I delete a student from the Student Online IDI Debrief Program?
If you ever need to completely delete a student’s data from the Student Online IDI Debrief Program website, please contact support@idiinventory.com. We will work with you to ensure that the data is completely removed from that database.
What do I do if a student enrolls in the incorrect course in the Online Student Debrief Program?
It is possible that a student may inadvertently select the wrong course (e.g. selecting the Minimization debrief when the Acceptance debrief was intended). Should this happen, you will need to manually enroll the student into the correct course from the Student Online IDI Debrief Program website. You should also delete their enrollment in the incorrect course. See the Administrator Menu – Users – Enrollments section in the User Guide for more information.
Can non-QAs with access to an Enterprise Account access the Student Online IDI Debrief Program?
Yes. They will be able to access the Debrief Program for administrative purposes (e.g. reviewing and managing student enrollments).
Note: Enterprise accounts will have to share LMS logins and the Primary QA is the only one who will receive emails from Online Debrief System, like password reset requests.
How do I create an account on the Student Online IDI Debrief Program website?
After placing an order for or including Online Debrief Codes in an individual QA account or in an Enterprise account for the first time, an account will automatically be created for you in the Online Debrief System. After placing your first order, you will receive an email with a temporary password to login to the Student Online IDI Debrief Program website. This account will allow you to view and manage student debrief enrollments. Your username for the Online Debrief Program will be the same as the IDI account’s username.
What if a student receives their IDI Individual Profile Report and IDP, but then does not complete the Online Debrief Program?
There are two potential issues that can occur:
- The first is that the student will have received their IDI results without receiving an Individual Debrief.
- The second is that once a student uses a code to log in to the Student Online IDI Debrief Program, that code is used and cannot be recovered or reimbursed.
You should ensure that students who are logging in intend to complete the program. Here are some strategies to increase the likelihood that students will complete the program:
- Wait until after the drop date has passed after the start of the course/program before administering the IDI.
- To encourage students to complete the debrief, you may also wish to assign points for completion of the Student Online IDI Debrief Program.
- (Important: You may NOT utilize IDI results to determine point assignment. For example, while you can assign points for completion of the IDI, the Student Online IDI Debrief Program, the IDP or related activities, you may not assign points based on IDI scores. Similarly, if you are conducting a post-test, you may not require a certain amount of progress on the IDI to earn points.
Why is the Online IDI Debrief Program designed for student use only?
We have designed the Student Online IDI Debrief Program specifically for the needs of students. The examples and explanations were created in a way that allows student to make connections to their results. Given that the use of the IDI with students is often integrated into a course or program experience, there is more opportunity for the QA to provide a rich experience for the student in conjunction with the individual IDI Debrief.
What is the cost for the Online Student IDI Debrief Program?
The cost is $7 per Online IDI Debrief enrollment.
Who can use the Online Student IDI Debrief Program?
IDI Qualified Administrators can use this program with any students. The students need to complete the IDI Assessment in order to utilize the program.
What will students receive when I include their email address in an order for an IDI Assessment and enrollment to the Online Debrief Program?
When Online Debrief Codes are ordered at the same time as IDI Login Codes, students will receive the following 3 automated email notices:
- After placing an order of IDI Login Codes + Online Debrief Codes: Notice to complete IDI and login info to take the IDI Assessment
- Upon completion of the IDI: Links to their IDI Individual Profile Report & IDP, along with login info and instructions to access the Student Online IDI Debrief Program
- After successful enrollment into the Online Debrief Program: Confirmation of enrollment into the Student Online IDI Debrief Program
Tip: Let students know they should check their spam or junk folders if they don’t receive an email.
See the Student Online IDI Debrief Program User Guide for the full text included with each of these emails.
Can I generate IDI Reports (i.e. Individual/Group Profile Reports) in the Online Debrief Program website?
No, any available IDI Reports can only be generated in the IDI Assessment Website by a licensed IDI Qualified Administrator.
Can I create groups based on students’ Developmental Orientation (DO) for additional learning opportunities?
No. Per the IDI Licensing Agreement, QAs may not place or order respondents in any way that would disclose each respondent’s orientation. (See IDI Licensing Agreement (D.4) https://idiinventory.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/license-agreement-05-15-2020.pdf)
Can Online Debrief Codes be ordered using Prepaid Credits?
No, but they can be purchased separately and used with IDI Login Codes that were purchased with Prepaid Credits.
What if I ordered too many enrollments for the Online Debrief Program?
While unused enrollments cannot be “returned” for a refund, you are able to utilize provide that Online Debrief Code to additional students until all enrollments for that code are utilized. For example, if you ordered 20 Online Debrief Codes, but only 15 students ended up taking the IDI and enrolling in the Student Online IDI Debrief Program, you would have 5 enrollments with that code remaining that you could use with other students.
What if I didn’t order enough enrollments for the Online Debrief Program for my class/program?
You can submit additional orders by including them with an additional IDI Login Codes order or ordering the Online Debrief Codes separately. Each order of Online Debrief Codes will have its own unique code. Thus, you may have students in the same group who are using different codes to enroll in the Online Debrief Program.
Can I use the Online Debrief Program without providing the IDI Assessment to my students?
No. The Online Debrief Program can only be used with students after they complete the IDI Assessment.
