Neurodiversity and Completing the IDI
Neurodiversity encompasses a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and dyslexia. Because neurodiversity reflects diverse ways of thinking, learning, and processing information, these conditions may affect individuals in different ways, There is no evidence to suggest that they would have a uniform impact on completing the IDI or on IDI results. As long as a respondent’s reading level is at least at the 10th-grade level, they should be able to complete the IDI without significant difficulty.
Has the IDI Been Reviewed for Neurodiversity?
At this time, the IDI has not been specifically reviewed with a focus on neurodiverse populations. The IDI does not include demographic questions that collect information about neurodiversity (such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, etc.).
Support in Completing the IDI
- No Time Limit: The IDI is not a timed assessment. Respondents can take as much time as they need to complete it.
- Save and Return: Respondents can save their progress and return to the assessment later using their username and password. To do this, they should complete the current screen before exiting. When they return, they can continue from where they left off.
