Completing the IDP with a partner

IDI Intercultural Development Plans (IDP) offer the following suggestion:

"If possible, working through your IDP with another person who is also working on their own IDP can increase intercultural growth and development for both of you."

Having a partner or small group to work through one's IDP with could increase accountability or deepen the experience of the participants due to exposure to more viewpoints, experiences, reflections, etc. However, confidentiality must be addressed if this option is being considered.

IDI Qualified Administrators (QA) who are considering suggesting that IDI respondents utilize a partner or small group to work through their IDPs must be aware that per the IDI Licensing Agreement, QAs may not place or order group respondents in any way that would disclose each respondent's orientation (see section 3.D.iv of the IDI Licensing Agreement).

Thus, IDI respondents should be allowed to choose a partner they are comfortable working with or be able to opt out of partner or group work.

If a QA has consent from ALL respondents, the QA may pair respondents with other IDI respondents. However, there are several considerations that must be investigated first to ensure confidentiality is maintained.  QAs who are considering this approach should contact support@idiinventory.com to discuss an appropriate process with one of our team members.

If you are an IDI respondent, you may disclose your IDI results as you wish.
